Chains of Thought

Primary

Every cheerleader west of the Housatonic River
Idolizes me
Every blonde hair catches me unaware
It paralyzes me
Every little girl fills every little curl
With bundles of love
Every little boy treats every little toy
Like she comes from above

Secondary

When I bet five dollars at three to one
And then realize what I've just done
When I have too many things to do
Why do I think of you?
When I stop in the street and stare at the sky
When I startle a bird and watch it fly
When I'm wondering what I'm supposed to do
Why do I think of you?

Primary

Everywhere I go everyone I know
Loves the USA
They say that it's free and it belongs to me
And it's going to stay that way
With the pine tree flag on the back of my bag
I'm headed west
Where the Californs live and the hippies give
Their very best

Tertiary

Sometimes I sit and wonder
Why does time fly by
Sometimes I sit and wonder
What can I rhyme with by
Sometimes I sit and wonder
Where would I be if I couldn't see
And what would I do if there was a you
Such that I could say at the end of the day
Where would I be without you?

Primary

Every cheerleader west of the Housatonic River
And most of those who live in the east
I'm going to bring them all together going to wait for subtle weather
Going to buy a lot of wine and give them a feast
Every cheerleader west of the Housatonic River
Idolizes me
Every blue eye like a patch of the sky
It hypnotizes me

Secondary

When my mind goes back to times that were
When my mind was quick and my aim was sure
When I really don't have much to do
Why don't I think of you?
