Umutonian Furniture

While asiit do use chairs, they are not nearly as common as on Earth. Mostly they use dodvaaltiit. A dodvaaltit is a pair of horizontal bars with supports such that one's butt sits on one bar and one's feet on the other. There are a great many variations on this basic theme. Often the bars will be long enough for many asiit. This is the equivalent of a bench. Sometimes there will be a third bar which serves as a back support, although this is unusual. I must say, for a human who isn't used to one a dodvaaltit can be uncomfortable, even if the size is right. (Usually humans use children's dodvaaltiit.) I've found that after time I've gotten used to them, though. Even so, I still use a chair in my own home and office.
