On this weekend I joined the Connecticut Section of the GMC's second Catskill Winter Weekend. On Saturday most of us climbed Balsam Lake Mountain, and on Sunday we all climbed Overlook Mountain, and explored the ruins of Overlook Mountain House, the remains of a hotel.

Every year hikers fly the American flag from each of the 4000 foot peaks in New Hampshire in remembrance of the victims of the theocratic attacks of September 2001. This year I again raised the flag on Middle Tripyramid. I had expected to go solo this year, but Headblade showed up at the trailhead to help. The next day I climbed the Osceolas from Tripoli Road.
